The theme of the conference is “ The future of Women, Peace and Security , and partnerships to shaping that future”

The conference takes place in the framework of the Women, Peace and Security Kenya National Action Plan on resolution 1325 and the SDG 2030 goals. The main objectives of this conference are to explore pathways to strengthen gender sensitive approaches to Peace and Security in Kenya and to raise awareness of UNSCR 1325 for local and regional change. The conference shall look closely at the following sub-themes :

1. Food and environmental security with a focus on rural women.

2. The role of Women mediators in Peacebuilding.

3. Youth and Partnerships for sustainable and lasting peace.
